Curated adventures in the heart of the Welsh wilderness. Designed for people who love the outdoors.

Welcome to the Welsh Wellbeing Collective

Curated small-group outdoor adventures in the Cambrian Mountains - hiking, cycling, paddle boarding and more.

A person in a red jacket walking up a dirt path in a grassy hillside with rolling green hills and cloudy sky in the background.

Not a retreat. Not a bootcamp. Just outdoor adventures that will make your heart sing.

Welsh Wellbeing Collective is a guided outdoor experience in the truest sense.

No reinvention promised. No performance required.

Just small groups of good people, moving through some of Wales most honest landscape, with a little Welsh Hwyl thrown in.

Welsh Wellbeing Collective was created by Ruth Astbury and Tony Bain — a therapeutic wellbeing coach and an expedition paddler and coach who met in the mountains of Mid Wales and have a love of everything outdoors.

Our Outdoor experiences: Hike. Bike. Paddle.

We offer one to three-day curated outdoor experiences built around hiking, cycling and paddle-boarding and other outdoor activities— supported throughout.

  • Therapeutic walking weekends in the Cambrian Mountains. Beginner-friendly routes, no-drop ethos, full support throughout. No fancy kit required.

  • Road, gravel and e-bike options across quiet Mid Wales lanes and hill passes. Curated for your ability. The scenery does the rest

  • SUP sessions on Welsh lakes and rivers, led by qualified instructor Tony Bain. Still water, clear head, and a kind of quiet that is very difficult to find on land.

About Mid Wales

Accessible wildness. A perfect place for your mini adventure.

Based in Llanwrtyd Wells - Britain’s smallest town - at the gateway to the Cambrian Mountains. Quiet roads. Open skies. The kind of space modern life rarely affords.

  • No crowds

  • No noise

  • Just space to breathe and have fun.

LLanwrtyd Wells, the place works for your mind ,body and soul. The Victorians knew it. They came in their thousands to experience Welsh Wellbeing- Ruth Astbury, Co-Founder

Corporate Wellbeing Days

Four people paddleboarding on a river surrounded by greenery, smiling and enjoying the activity.

For teams who need space to reset, reconnect and think without the noise of the office. Our corporate wellbeing days are purposefully designed — not a packaged adventure day, but a structured, facilitated day in one of Wales’s most genuinely calming environments.

We work with business leaders and senior teams to build days that deliver real outcomes: better energy, clearer conversations, and something your team will actually remember.

A scenic countryside landscape with rolling green hills, a river running through the valley, a large tent camping area, and a parking lot filled with cars. Bright blue sky with scattered clouds overhead.
